Ford Truck Recall: Your Next Steps

By Canada Drives Newsroom | Dealer Services

Ford Motor Company is recalling 1.3 million 2015-17 Ford F-150 and 2017 Ford Super Duty Trucks due to lack of water shields installed on side door latches.

The recall involves more than 222,000 trucks in Canada.

Although Ford says that no accidents have been reported, vehicles that have been affected by this means there could be potential for a door to swing open while driving, or not open at all, which could be a serious risk to drivers.

The company will begin notifying Canadian owners of the recall this upcoming week. Once notified, dealers will need to install water shields over door latches and inspect door latch cables to see if any repairs are needed.

The recall is costing Ford Motor Company approximately $267 million.
